Blues in the Park

Wednesday, July 13, 2011

Blues In The Park — three outstanding blues acts presented by the Pictou County Blues Society in partnership with the Jubilee. We are happy to be able to present this free outdoor blues show for the blues fans of Pictou County and guests to the Jubilee. The blues performances will begin at 3:30 pm with opening act, our local and well loved boogie woogie lady, Doris Mason, followed by Blues Harmonica player/guitar player/songwriter, Dylan MacDonald from Alberta with special guest from Edmonton, Sean Stephens. Blues fans may remember Sean as the stand up bass player from The Talisman Blues Band, which the Blues Society presented last year. The afternoon will wrap up with Shirley Jackson and The SideCats, from the great blues city of Halifax.

Come on out for this free Blues event, enjoy some great music in a lovely park setting, see old friends, then head down to the mainstage for another awesome Sunday night of music. The Jubilee will close with Pictou County's own...Ghostrider & The Allied Horns!

There will be food and soft drinks for sale with proceeds going to Blues In The Park. The Society will be selling raffle tickets on an original framed painting of a Blues guitar player, which we will draw for in the fall at our Blues show.
