Always Distracted to open Saturday show

Wednesday, July 13, 2011

We are pleased to announce that Always Distracted will take the 7o'clock spot on Saturday, July 30. The spot opened up when Above All Else indicated they would no longer be able to fill the bill. We knew that many of their fans would be disappointed, so our goal was to find a band that would be very similar in nature. Always Distracted fits so well with our efforts to foster rising talent and, given their great reception and performance in last year's School of Rock competition on CBC radio, we think they have a bright future.

Always Distracted is an original pop/rock band from Pictou County, Nova Scotia. These young musicians are honing their craft every chance they get, working toward their big dreams. Keeping true to musicianship since Cassie Mann (bass & vocals) and Luke MaDonald (guitar & vocals) banded together in October of 2008, they have homegrown their own sound, creating songs that express life's challenges at a level of maturity that exceeds all expectations. Anthony Pellerine has joined the group on drums and vocals, making Always Distracted a well rounded ( & happy!) trio.

Major accomplishments for the band last year were making the top 5 in the CBC School of Rock contest and recording two of their songs at Smashbox Studios in Dominion, NS. This year will see Always Distracted performing live for various events, as well as recording more of their songs, with the eventual release of their debut EP.
